Its Cold..........

Went into the garage today to see if any of my machines are still working (for tomorrows gaming afternoon) and fired up a couple of machines, which didn't work out too well. The super Hangon's power supply made some nasty popping noises so I won't be trying that again until the weather has improved. It's -3.0 degrees right now

More Highscore Site Updates

Even more time spent on improving the highscore site.

As well as fixing a little bug, the Scores By User and Scores by Game tables now both display the correct game or user details in the header.

I have replaced the "delete" and "edit" words with icons

improved spacing on he tables so that scores/levels and ranking etc are clearly separated

Jamma+ database migration

I have been experimenting tonight with migration of the jamma+ database from the nasty access databse to sql server 2008. I think I have got the hang of it now so pending some testing, this will be migrated for real some time soon.

Firstly I hope this will bring about a performance increase

Secondly it will allow me to use a more up to date version of the forum software

Finally I intend to write my own forum software that integrates better with the jamma+ site and the highscore site

Highscore site updates

I am currently working on the UK highscore site. I am adding the ability to upload photos of scores to the site. Currently the upload is working, I have even added the ability automatic resizing of the image to a sensible size. There is currently a problem with viewing the images which I am working on. I will keep you up to date when this is working again

New Arrival - Atari Paperboy

At last, after years of waiting I finally have one :)

This one needs alot of work, infact the working condition is nothing like the seller described, but it is getting there.

So far I have had to fix the following problems :-

Controls wired upside-down (up is down and down is up etc)
Controlls jittering (replaced ADC)
Game crashes after 4-5 goes (bad sockets and bad 74ls245)
Sound missing in one chanel (dead amp on right)
Speech scrambled and not working properly (bad speech chip)
Music stops half way through a level (bad 6502 code roms)

Terrible monitor picture (partially fixed with reflowing solder joints and replacing some caps that i had to had) Monitor still has foldover on the left hand side, poor focus, unballanced colours and takes a very long time to warm up.

The 2 5volt psus have been equalised.

The connectors on the wiring harness are poor or have been soldered straight onto the pcb header pins, so all new connectors needed.
